House Of Applejay Introduces Applejay Distillery & Winery as Its Tourism-Facing Name

Shortened destination name reflects the East Ellijay producer’s growing work in wine while preserving its liqueur-first identity

EAST ELLIJAY, Georgia — August 12, 2026 — House Of Applejay, Inc. has introduced Applejay Distillery & Winery as its tourism-facing DBA.

With the addition of “Winery,” the full destination name had become too long for practical use across tourism listings, maps, signs and visitor communications. The tourism-facing name was therefore shortened to Applejay Distillery & Winery, giving visitors one clear and easily recognizable name for the East Ellijay destination.

The change does not create a new company or alter its ownership. House Of Applejay, Inc. remains the legal company and producer behind its award-winning spirits and liqueurs.

“Liqueurs remain at the heart of everything we do,” said founder, distiller and liqueurist Caroline Porsiel. “Shortening our tourism-facing name gives visitors a simpler way to find and recognize us while allowing the destination name to represent both our distillery and our developing winery.”

The company will soon release Rich Mountain Aperitivo, an aperitivo-style liqueur created specifically for turning white or sparkling wine into a balanced wine cocktail. The signature serve combines two parts wine with one part Rich Mountain Aperitivo and can be enjoyed over ice or with sparkling wine.

Rich Mountain Aperitivo illustrates how the distillery and winery sides of the destination will come together: the liqueur contributes flavor and balance, while the wine completes the cocktail.

House Of Applejay is a liqueur-first distillery placing liqueurs at the center of modern cocktails. Through Liquistry, the company builds cocktail balance directly into the liqueur itself, allowing guests to create distinctive drinks with fewer ingredients.

Visitors to Applejay Distillery & Winery can explore guided tastings, cocktails, distilling history, the Bear Barrel Patio and the stories behind House Of Applejay’s mountain-inspired spirits. Wine products and wine-cocktail experiences will be introduced as the winery side of the business develops.

The destination remains strictly for guests age 21 and older.
