House of Applejay Adds Farm Winery License Ahead of Rich Mountain Aperitivo Release
New license supports cooperation with Georgia farm wineries and introduces a new way to experience locally produced wine and liqueur
EAST ELLIJAY, Ga. — House of Applejay Distillery has added a Georgia farm winery license as it prepares to release Rich Mountain Aperitivo, a new Italian bitter-style liqueur, in the coming weeks.
Rich Mountain Aperitivo was developed to be served with white wine or sparkling wine, creating an elegant mountain interpretation of the classic Italian aperitivo. The liqueur offers balanced bitterness with less sweetness and less emphasis on orange than many traditional aperitifs.
Because the new aperitivo is designed to be enjoyed with wine, House of Applejay added the farm winery license to support cooperation with local Georgia farm wineries and allow customers to sample the complete serve at the distillery.
“Rich Mountain Aperitivo was never intended to be experienced only as a straight liqueur,” said Caroline Porsiel, founder and CEO of House of Applejay Distillery. “It was created to come alive with white or sparkling wine. Adding the farm winery license allows us to work with local wine producers and introduce our customers to the mountain cocktail exactly as we envisioned it.”
The new licensing structure also creates opportunities for House of Applejay to develop closer relationships with Georgia farm wineries and explore future products and experiences that bring locally produced wine and spirits together.
Rich Mountain Aperitivo will expand House of Applejay’s portfolio of carefully crafted, small-batch liqueurs produced in East Ellijay. Release details and the official launch date will be announced soon.
