Love leaves no room for fear
(The Peaceful Bear)
Misha
In the deep forests of Sarov, in early 19th-century Russia, Saint Seraphim of Sarov lived as a hermit shaped by prayer, silence, and radical gentleness. Those who came seeking counsel often found something unexpected at his side: a great brown bear.
The bear, known in tradition as Misha, wandered freely into the saint’s woodland cell. Seraphim shared his simple food with the animal, speaking to it calmly, without fear or command. Witnesses recorded that the bear obeyed him peacefully, sitting or retreating at a word—no force, only trust.
For generations, this story has endured not as spectacle, but as testimony: holiness restores harmony. Where fear dissolves, even the wild remembers peace.
Love leaves no room for fear.
